Description: While Improvisation is most famous as a comedy style, it’s practical value can be applied to all sorts of careers. The same techniques improvisors use in their performances can help anyone to think better on their feet, speak more confidently, become a more effective collaborator, be more adaptable, maximize their creativity, and be more authentic. It’s the same improv fundamentals as the regular Foundation 1 class delivered in the same laughter-filled style - just with an instructor with the business experience to explain how to apply the skills to a variety careers.
Goal: To learn how improv fundamentals can help in developing more well-rounded soft skills. Students will also learn Bad Dog’s full Improv Foundation 1 curriculum, become familiar with Improv vocabulary, and execute basic scenes through games and drills.
Prerequisite: No prior experience required.
Class Size: 10 Maximum
Duration: 12 hours total, 5 weeks (2.5 hours/class).

About The Instructor: Alfred Chow is an improvisor that has performed and taught workshops all around the world - including Sweden, Thailand, Norway, and Australia. He is one half of the troupe Mahjong Mafia, with whom Alfred won Toronto’s World’s Biggest Improv Tournament earlier this year. Alfred also co-stars and co-produces the hit show All Our Parents Are Asian. When not performing, Alfred is an MBA and market analyst with experience in tech and finance.

BAD DOG STUDIOS (392 Spadina Ave) and COMEDY BAR BLOOR (945 Bloor St W) have stairs (approx. 15-20 steps) and are not wheelchair accessible. CSI SPADINA (192 Spadina Ave) has wheelchair accessible studios. If you require a mobility accommodation, please let us know.
