Description: Have fun building your improv skills by diving into one of the most popular longform improv formats! The Armando has long been one of the most classic and accessible styles of advanced improvisation. The Armando draws from real life stories to inspire a series of improvised scenes and is the basis of a number of highly regarded improv productions (including Upright Citizen's Brigade's flagship show Asssscat).
Learn how to find comedic inspiration from real life, how to joyously and spontaneously create compelling scenes, and how to play with your fellow improvisors in a new way!
Goal: To advance knowledge and skill of longform improv concepts through the Armando form (a series of interconnected improv scenes inspired by true storytelling)
Prerequisite: Improv Foundation 4 or equivalent
Class Size: 10 people max
Duration: 4 weeks, 8 hours total
Location: CSI Spadina (192 Spadina Ave)

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: Sage Tyrtle is a professional writer and performance storyteller. Sage and her work have been featured on NPR, CBC Radio, the PBS series Stories From The Stage, Maclean's, Now Magazine, and the Toronto Star among others. She is a multiple-time Moth StorySLAM winner, one-time GrandSLAM winner, and has performed her work at festivals around the world. Sage's writing has been published in Apex, X-R-A-Y, the Offing, and in the novella The King Of Elkport among other publications. She has taught extensively with her own workshops and others with Seneca College, The Second City Toronto, Improv Comedy Bangalor (India), The Assembly Improv, and The Maxing Box (Guelph).
VENUE ACCESSIBILITY: CSI Spadina (192 Spadina Ave) is wheelchair accessible. Bad Dog Studios (392 Spadina Ave) has 15-20 steps to it's 2nd floor studio spaces and is not wheel chair accessible.
