Description: Storytelling is more than a just a style of writing and performance, it's one of the most effective forms of communication we have. The Art of Storytelling has a place in every society and culture for a reason: it's power to spark the imagination's of others through words alone makes it a powerful tool for connection, expression, and sharing our experiences. So whether you want to be an engaging performer, an effective communicator, a confident presenter, or just want to understand yourself better, building your skills as a storyteller can open up new possibilities.

Goal: To learn the key skills of great storytelling and develop your own original stories. This class will culminate will have an opportunity to present their story on stage

Prerequisite: No prior writing or experience necessary.
Class Size: 10 people max
Duration: 12 hours total, 5 weeks (2.5 Hrs/Class)

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Sage Tyrtle is a professional writer and performance storyteller. Sage and her work have been featured on NPR, CBC Radio, the PBS series Stories From The Stage, Maclean's, Now Magazine, and the Toronto Star among others. She is a multiple-time Moth StorySLAM winner, one-time GrandSLAM winner, and has performed her work at festivals around the world. Sage's writing has been published in Apex, X-R-A-Y, the Offing, and in the novella The King Of Elkport among other publications. She has taught extensively with her own workshops and others with Seneca College, The Second City Toronto, Improv Comedy Bangalor (India), The Assembly Improv, and The Maxing Box (Guelph).
