SPECIAL WORKSHOP: THE IMPROVISOR’S TOOLKIT: ESSENTIALS FOR STRONGER SCENES (WITH ALFRED CHOW)

About This Workshop: Do you sometimes find your scenes caught in patterns that prevent them from reaching their full potential? This workshop is all about providing specific tools that address the biggest reasons that improv scenes don’t flourish as they should. Students will learn how to better: discover their character’s point of view, support their scene partner, navigate scenes with confusing structure, provide grounding to absurd scenes, make clearer initiations, and apply greater variety to scenes.

Prerequisites: Improv Foundation 3 or equivalents.

About Your Instructor: Alfred Chow is an improv performer, teacher, and Bad Dog Resident Artist. He has performed and taught improv around the world (on 4 continents so far). Alfred’s improv work in Toronto includes producing the long-running hit shows All Of Us Are Naughty and All Of Us Are Asian, and his award-winning work with the improv duo Mahjong Mafia - with whom Alfred has won the World’s Biggest Improv Tournament. As an instructor, Alfred has taught and coached countless students, troupes, and workshops with institutions across North America and Europe. His own studies include work with Joe Bill, Susan Messing, Dave Razowsky, Jamie Moyer, Will Hines, UCB, iO, and The Groundlings - among others.
