ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
In this 4-hour workshop, students will have the special opportunity to develop sketch comedy with one of Canada’s most accomplished and beloved comedians. Participants will work through the same methods The Kids In The Hall used to turn spontaneous play into structured sketches.

Kevin will guide students through a series of improvised scenes and then suggest how to maximize their comedic potential by identifing the strongest premises, expanding on the characters, and shaping the stories. After continued refinement, students will perform their developed sketch and receive personalized feedback.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Kevin McDonald is an actor, writer, and comedian. He is best known as a member of the legendary and influential Canadian sketch troupe The Kids In The Hall , with whom he's written and co-starred in numerous projects - including their long-running series with HBO/CBC, the feature film Brain Candy, the CBC miniseries Death Comes To Town, and their revived sketch series on Amazon Prime. Besides these works, KITH are also the subject of the award-winning Amazon Prime documentary Kids In The Hall: Comedy Punks- which chronicles their history and influence on a generation of comedians. As a member of KITH, Kevin has received the Canadian Screen Academy Icon Award and a star on Canada's Walk Of Fame.

In addition to his work with Kids In The Hall, Kevin is an accomplished actor. Some of Kevin's most memorable roles among hundreds of credits include Pastor Dave on That 70s Show, Almighty Tallest Purple on Invader Zim, Agent Wendy Pleakley across Disney's Lilo & Stitch franchise, and guest appearances on Seinfeld, Newsradio, and others.

WHO IS IT FOR?
This workshop is intended for those with an existing practice with improv, sketch comedy, or other types of comedy writing and performance to benefit from the feedback of a 40+ year sketch comedy veteran and his experiences producing comedy for the stage, television, and film.
