Description: Are you an improvisor that loves to sing? Or an improvisor that hates to sing but wants to build your skill set? Or even just a person curious how improvisors spontaneously create funny and musically interesting songs? If any of these apply to you, this could be the workshop series for you! Work with an experienced music director to strengthen your overall skills and learn the fundamentals of this unique form. No prior musical improv experience necessary.

Goal: To learn the structure of an improvised song, understand how to incorporate musical concepts into improv scenes, and sample a number of well-known musical improv games.

Prerequisite: Improv Foundation 1 or equivalent.
Class Size: 10 maximum
Duration: 12 Hours Total (2 Hrs/Class)

RORY GRANT is a musical director, piano player, tuba player, guitar player, and singer. He dreams of a world where everyone is comfortable singing and we can break into song on the TTC.

ROBBIE GRANT is an improvisor that has taught through U of T / Hart House, North Toronto Collegiate, and Stratford Festival’s Shakespeare School, among others. (Yes, they are brothers).
