Spring Youth & Teen Classes
Bad Dog Theatre's Youth and Teen classes are some of our most popular offerings. Taught by our Youth Academy Instructors over seven weeks, your kids will learn the in's and out's of performing improv, while honing in on important life skills as well!

Youth Intro: Making a Scene
Grades 5-8 | Sat & Sun April 14th- June 3rd.
This introductory class, with a focus on scene structure,, will teach basic terminology, the art of Yes and…, & working as a team all while playing fun improv games (like Whose Line is it Anyway?) that help unlock creativity, increase confidence and develop impulses & play.
Students get to show off their prowess at the end of the term at a fun Showcase that is open to friends and family. Showcase June 3rd

Teen Intro: Building a World
Grades 9-12 | Thurs. April 12th- June 3rd

NEW! Youth Advanced Ensemble Term 2: Storytellers
Grades 5-8 | Sat April 14th- June 3rd.
We’ve have the skills to create a scene and we can fill it with interesting characters, time to put on a show! This second semester of Bad Dog Youth Academy’s, Youth Advanced Ensemble, is all about storytelling and how we tell stories to our audiences. We’ll dissect types of stories, how we can translate them into an improv scene, and how to bring everything together to create a standout show.

NEW! Teen Performance Ensemble Term 2: Formats
Grades 9-12 | Friday Aprils 13th- June 3rd.
We’ve built an ensemble and know our way around a scene. Now it’s time to have some fun! This second semester of Bad Dog Youth Academy’s Teen Performance Ensemble is all about Formats. Learn the difference and skills needed for short-form versus a long-form format. Learn some of Bad Dog’s favourite formats like Theatresports, Pushpins, Super Scene, & our signature show Toronto, I Love you. Who knows, maybe we’ll even build one of our own?
Think fast on your feet, follow your impulse, and work in harmony with your ensemble to create performances audiences will be convinced they were pre-written.
