advanced adult Improv Classes
Our Performance Series courses are for experienced improvisers looking to challenge themselves in a variety of specific formats and styles. Registration for classes is done by audition only.
Formats (or forms) provide a framework within which to improvise... an agreed-upon set of conventions or rules to guide and focus play, while inspiring invention. Some of them are structurally intricate, while others feature broader concepts and goals.
Duration: 3 terms, 8 weeks/term, 2.5hrs/class

What is it?This two weekend intensive is for performers who have tried musical improv and want to deepen their skills. Classes will aim at honing each performer's technical skill, musical knowledge, and sharpening their instincts in improvised songs. Each week active participation will give students the opportunity to practice solos, duets, trios, madrigals, ensemble work and narrative structure. Students should have experience in improv and be comfortable singing in front of an audience.
Class Shows: There will be grad show at Academy Tuesday
When is it? Sundays 12-4pm | August 11th & 18th
Who is it For? Foundation Level 3+ at least some experience with improv
