Valentine's Day is just around the corner... but if the special day doesn't quite turn out right for you (or if it does and you need a follow up) we've offering up a special improvised Romantic Comedy on February 19th at 8pm.
Prepare to be swept off your feet by Toronto’s funniest star-crossed lovers in a new romantic comedy from the Bad Dog Theatre Company. Six multiple award-winning cast members, Jan Caruana (Monkey Toast), Ashley Comeau (Second City), James Gangl (Theatresports), Devon Hyland (Sundown), Carmine Lucarelli (Provocateur), and Hannah Spear (Sexy Nerd Girl), take the stage and fall head-over-heels in love in this hilarious take on the most loveable of film genres. It’s not only about the laughs... we’re at our most vulnerable when we’re hopelessly in love and these improvisers aren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves, and find the funny moments during the heartache that comes before the happy ending.
Director Alex Hatz takes the longform improv style that made About an Hour a Fringe Festival hit, and reworks it to perfectly suit the Romantic Comedy mold. Taking cues from some your favourite romantic comedies, like Pretty Woman, Groundhog Day, My Best Friend’s Wedding, and Love Actually these skilled improvisers deliver the laughs, romance and tears that will make your heart swoon. So grab your partner by the hand and snuggle in close.
Love Is… is a part of our Big Ticket offering, bringing the best of the silver screen to life onstage once a month at Bad Dog Epic Wednesdays!
