Experiments in Improvisation Laboratory
with Becky Johnson
What is it? Designed as a lab space for advanced improv performers, this course focuses on pushing the boundaries of improvised theatre practice by exploring how and why we approach our time on stage. Participants should come prepared for all the rigors that come with creative growth. There will be homework in reasonable amounts.
This class will expose participants to various approaches to physical and actor-generated theatre practice as well as improvised practices that usually fall outside of a standard comedy improv curriculum. It will also explore participant-generated questions and approaches under the guidance of instructor Becky Johnson. Participants will leave this course of study with new tools designed to help with the generation of improvised formats, shows and collaborations. Let's ask pressing and ridiculous questions and hope very hard that they take us to places we have never been before! And the let's make those new places entertaining.
