Winter Series | Cinematic Improv

What: This course is for performers with stage experience looking to add narrative depth and visual style to their work on stage. Focus will be on developing skills for presenting creative and active scenes that use the audience’s imagination to build dramatic worlds using elements of storytelling, stage combat, puppetry and sound design.  Each week students will learn and practice new skills designed to raise the stakes of scenework and incorporate those skills in a progression of practice sets.  With a balance of on-your-feet technical training and discussions of narrative theory, the course will prepare students to bring all the glitz and CGI explosions of big-screen blockbusters to the stage.
